My Great Grandfather was Wilhelm Otto Ludwig von Thoene from Kassel, Germany and my Great Grandmother was Elsa von Thoene.

This book is a story of fiction based on historical fact.  I’ve done my best to connect the dots of the Hawaii German community and their relationship with the Kingdom of Hawaii and monarchy over a thirty year interval commencing in 1868 and ending at Hawaii’s annexation to the United States in 1898.
